Hands-on Seminor of Semiconductor for High School Students was carried out.
Venue:
Mejirodai International Village
Overview :
Hands-on Seminor of Semiconductor for High School Students was carried out with a cooporation of PLIJ STEAM Learning Community. After a lecture by Professor Kosuge on semiconductors that support AI technology, we visited the laboratory and observed the semiconductor chips being developed by dlab. Following this, a demonstration using an embedded GPU showed that while GPU processing is fast, it consumes a large amount of power. Next, each participant had the opportunity to design and implement image recognition using FPGA boards, tackling challenges such as what could be recognized and the accuracy of recognition. They also experimented by modifying the program code and changing image sizes according to their own ideas. At the end, everyone presented what they had learned and their impressions of the seminar. A total of 24 people, including middle school students, participated, and all of them worked on the tasks up until the final presentation.
