Overview
The “AI and Semiconductors” course is a completely online, free program supervised and produced by the University of Tokyo’s d.lab in collaboration with the Matsuo and Iwasawa Laboratories, and it attracted nearly 2,000 participants. As part of this course, we used AWS F2 instances to run an FPGA cloud hackathon on October 3 and 10, in which 100 students simultaneously worked on accelerating YOLOv2.
On November 14, we invited outstanding participants selected from among roughly 200 hackathon entrants to a presentation session and informal gathering. They shared their respective optimization techniques and had lively discussions on the latest topics in the field. A.Kosuge, H.Amano Responsibility: Amano
